David Dobbins, 88, of Roanoke Rapids passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at Wake Medical Center. He was son of the late Horace Elliott and Helen Allsbrook Dobbins. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Becky Grant Dobbins and his second wife, Frankie Williams Dobbins; his brothers, Haskall Dobbins, Doyle Dobbins, Gordon Dobbins, Dwight Dobbins, and Keith Dobbins.

David was in the US Army from 1944-1946 and served in the South Pacific. He was a lifetime member of VFW Post 3702. For many years he was an active member of Myrick Hills Country Club. He was a member of Rosemary Baptist Church and was a retired supervisor from J.P. Stevens.

He is survived by his stepchildren, Adrianne W. Mullis, Ray R. Williams, Daniel G. Williams, and Leigh W. Allman; special sister-in-law, Harriett M. Dobbins; nieces, Laurie D. Miller and Amy D. Sutton; and his cousin, Marcia Allsbrook Royal.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Askew Funeral and Cremation Services.
